Alex Stone is a Los Angeles-based national correspondent for ABC News
Radio.

Since joining ABC News, Stone has covered stories around the globe for
ABC News’ broadcast and digital platforms, including the 2004
tsunami in Southeast Asia and the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in
Japan. He has traveled to Beijing, Vancouver, London and South Korea
to cover the Olympics.

In 2005, Stone spent weeks in New Orleans and the surrounding areas of
Louisiana covering Hurricane Katrina and the storm’s aftermath. He
also covered numerous high-profile trials for ABC News, including the
cases of Scott Peterson, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jackson and O.J.
Simpson.

Before joining the network in October 2004, Stone was a general
assignment reporter at KOA Radio in Denver. While attending the
University of Colorado at Boulder, he reported the news on weekday
mornings and anchored “Colorado’s Morning News Saturday” on the
weekends.

Stone began his career at KSRO Radio in Santa Rosa, California, while
still in grade school. At 12, he started working at KSRO for a program
called “Teens on Air.” At 13, he joined the KSRO News team,
covering local news for the morning show before school and anchoring
the afternoon news after classes.

Stone received national Edward R. Murrow Awards for his story “A DIA
Security Report Card: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” and coverage
of the 2015 terror attack in San Bernardino.
